KNOWLEDGE-INTENSIVE OUTSOURCING Benchmark analysis of how companies engage in knowledge-intensive outsourcing. Typically, this means outsourcing and partnering in product development, R&D and/or service development where suppliers are brought in based on specific competencies which directly contribute to production or development of the sponsoring company’s product and/or service offering, for example engineering, programming and design competencies. GENERALIZED OUTSOURCING  Benchmark study on the use of outsourcing by Danish companies across four industries: IT, finance, pharmaceutical/biotech and manufacturing.  The study included 22 Danish companies from the four industries. Collectively, these companies report a turnover of over 157 billion Danish kroner and employ more than 110,000 in over 81 countries. Our study has produced a fascinating picture of how outsourcing is currently being used by Danish firms. We are certain that this study will add a qualitative dimension to the discussion of outsourcing as well as provide a way to enable Danish firms to continue to master this strategic business tool.
